Costa Rica Missionary Project

So could a new spray technology like the Spray Sealants Gun be used in the missions field? Thanks to Al Irvin and Kevin McCoy, we set out to determine the effectiveness of using a polyurethane foam sealant to reduce the temperature transferred into a house from a hot metal roof. Because of the foam sealant is made of closed cell chemistry, the efficiency is superior to almost any other building material. While this is not the best example, think about how think a styrofoam cup is and yet it can maintain the temperature of a very hot cup of coffee.

Throughout the globe, may people use sheet metal as a roofing material because it is very inexpensive and yet durable. That is the good news. The bad news?  In a hot, humid climate the sun baking down on that metal can make the indoor environment of the house almost unbearable to stay in during the day. This is especially true if you are in an area that does not have consistent breezes to provide a natural ventilation of the building.
